Areas of use
We are constantly receiving new product ideas in our idea portal. One of the latest was a pair of pants in wool fleece, and during development of these it was obvious that we had to make a top to go with it.

The idea is that this hoodie is your go-to hoodie around the campfire or on the sofa after an adventure. It's also a warm friend beneath your jacket on cold days. Other areas of use:

  • On the wall at the crag
  • On a walk with the dog
  • On a date with a slightly-too-hip cup of coffee in hand
  • Eating waffles at your in-laws
  • In your bag at sunrise at 61°27′41″N 7°52′19″Ø

It is a very important point that this hoodie lasts a long time. It is developed with the many years of wear and tear it will endure in mind, and must have a classic design that will never go out of style. the background for our design philosophy is the simple fact that sustainable textiles do not exist. The only thing that really makes a difference when it comes to the environment is consuming less. That's why we have to together develop clothes that are used often and for a long time. We suggest to read our design philosophy before giving feedback on this product.

Attributes
This is a brand new product idea. We have yet to order a prototype, and are launching the product as a sketch to include you in the entire process. We are open for most feedback, but are so far leaning towards these attributes:

  • High neck
  • Spacious hood with laces
  • Hidden side pockets with zipper
  • Reinforcement on shoulders and elbows
  • Hidden thumbhole
  • Fitted cut and long
  • Earth tones without "loud" details
  • Matching pants (see here)

In addition to these attributes, we have a few questions:

  • Is this a product you would order?
  • Are there any obvious (or not so obvious) functions that should be in a hoodie like this?

Give us your feedback at the bottom of the page!

Material
You've probably heard of fleece, but have you heard of wool fleece? Wool fleece is knitted wool where one side is brushed up so that you get a soft inside. By using wool instead of regular fleece, you get all of wool's advantages, we are able to stick to natural materials and you still get a comfortable garment with high insulation capacity. We are currently looking for a good supplier.

Wool fleece vs polyster fleece
A challenge with polyester is that it is made of oil and sheds micro plastic. Most people know this, but lots of people prefer polyester fleece because they think it is a more "breathable" mid-layer. Research from Austria referred to in Randulf Valles book "Why Does Being Wet Make You Feel So Cold" clearly shows that moisture is transported away from the body more effectively with wool as a mid-layer. Just try for yourself!
