Northern Playgrounds newest project is to manufacture in our homebase of Oslo. The Somali women in the Kumnis network are creating jobs and opportunities for unemployed women in our local community. Together we want to build a prosperous and sustainable business for all parts.
The second step in the project is the fabrics we use. Very often other brands don’t use all the ordered fabrics in their productions. These fabrics are then just left behind and not used for anything. We want to create a system where these fabrics are given new life and made into high quality limited edition Northern Playground products.
The last part of the journey is our environmental tax. For every sale on our webpage we donate a sum of money to the Development Fund Norway. They use the money to plant trees in Ethiopia and Somalia. That way we create new jobs, stop deforestation and win back Co2.
