First of all: Once you receive your Ziplongs®, give yourself a chance to try getting them on and off at home before you head out. Getting Ziplongs® on for the first time takes a little finesse. Read more about the color codes under technical details.
Better ventilation (see video): Ziplongs offers an opportunity to customise your ventilation to your choosing. If your pants have zippers, open the zippers of the pants and the Ziplongs and you will have fresh breeze directly on your skin. If you want more ventilation, just tuck the Ziplongs in or remove completely. Once it gets cold; zip up!
If you use Ziplongs® with 3/4 length , make sure you also wear tall socks. That ensures full comfort and no risk of a cold gap between the Ziplongs and the (short) sock.
For the really cold days, Ziplongs® also works great between your underwear and hard shell as a midlayer.
Should I choose 3/4 or full length? The first advantage with 3/4 length is that it matches much better with your ski boots, hunting boots, and other tall boots. You just need to match them with tall socks. 3/4-length Ziplongs® are also easier to get on and off, because you only have to zip down to the calf. Full-length Ziplongs®, on the other hand, ensure there’s no gap of bare skin if you prefer to wear short socks and boots.
Finally, a word on our philosophy: People often think that being warm is all about having enough clothes on. That is only half the truth. If your baselayer’s not dry, you’ll get cold no matter how many layers you put on. That’s why the most important aspect of being warm is to be dry. And that’s what Zipwear is all about. Remove your Ziplongs® before you start to sweat, and put it back on when you get cold. Or, have two Ziplongs®. Either way you will be dry, comfortable and safer out in the cold with your Zipwear.
