TERMS & CONDITIONS
This is Northern Playground´s general terms for consignment sales. Before you hand in your clothes for resale at Northern Playground, you need to accept these general terms.
Consignment sales
Northern Playground sells garments on consignment with a 50/50 split. This means that we keep 50% of the sales price for each item we sell on your behalf, and you receive the remaining 50%. Northern Playground reserves the right to decline garments that do not meet our quality criteria (see Quality Criteria below).
You agree that we set the sales price for your garment based on what we believe is fair. We may adjust the price by up to 20% during the sales period without notifying you. This helps ensure the item sells as quickly and fairly as possible.
The sales period is 30 days. During this time, you cannot take back your items. After the 30 days, you have 14 days to collect any unsold items. If an item remains unsold and uncollected after these 14 days, ownership of the garment is transferred to Northern Playground. We may then decide how to use or sell the garment
You retain ownership of your garment until it is sold to a customer by Northern Playground.
Becoming a consignment customer
To become a consignment customer, you must confirm that you:
Are at least 18 years old
Have a Norwegian personal ID number
Have a Norwegian bank account in your own name (required for commission payments)
Provide your own contact information
Are the legal owner of the garments and have the right to sell them through us
Ensure that all garments meet our quality criteria (see Quality Criteria below)
Keep your contact details up to date so we can reach you if needed
Commission payment
Your sales commission will be registered on your customer account and can be tracked at My Page . You can use your balance to shop in the Northern Playground store (not online) or request a payout.
Payouts are not automatic - you must request them manually via My Page . Available payout methods and options may change over time.
Northern Playground charges a 50 NOK fee per payout to cover administrative costs.
Your commission balance is available for 24 months from the date of delivery. After that, any remaining balance will go to Northern Playground, and you can no longer claim or request payment.
Quality criteria for accepted garments
Northern Playground decides which garments can be accepted for resale, based on the following quality criteria:
We only accept Northern Playground products
All garments must be freshly washed
Garments must be in good condition: no smell, stains, holes or visible damage. Repairs are fine, as long as they are properly done
We do not accept socks or underwear (including bras)
We inspect all garments when you deliver them. If we later discover that an item does not meet our quality criteria, we will contact you and inform you about the issue. You can then choose to pick up the item or let Northern Playground take ownership of it. If you choose to take it back, you must collect it from the store within 14 days.
Liability
The consignment customer is responsible for, and must compensate Northern Playground for, any damages or costs caused by a breach of these terms.
Northern Playground is not responsible for any damages or losses that:
Occur as part of your business activities
Are covered by the disclaimers stated in these terms
Result from your failure to fulfill obligations under these terms
Affect your personal property due to garments purchased from us, for example, damages caused by insects transferred from a garment to your home
Northern Playground’s maximum liability is limited to:
For purchased garments: the total amount paid by the customer
For consigned garments: the value of your commission, based on the price set by Northern Playground
