WHY DID WE MAKE IT?
We missed having a sweater that was warm enough to wear outdoors, yet still comfortable indoors. Classic in cut, soft against the skin, and built to last. It had to be formal enough to wear over a dress shirt, yet rugged enough to handle being near a chopping block. (But watch out for rusty nails sticking out of the shed wall — this is a knitted sweater that doesn’t get along with rusty nails.)

WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL?
There aren’t many sweaters like this one. Long-fiber merino wool gives it durability and natural elasticity. The melange effect comes from knitting two colors together, creating a lively play of shades you won’t grow tired of. Most importantly, it’s 100% wool. And it’s made in Europe at some of the continent’s finest factories.

CARE AND REPAIR
Merino wool keeps its shape and stays soft even after many washes. But take care when washing! If accidents happen, it’s easy to repair. We keep extra yarn in the same quality and color, so skilled hands can bring it back to life.

THE HISTORY
The knitted sweater is perhaps the most down-to-earth garment we have. For generations, it has kept people warm on fishing boats, mountain peaks, and in drafty living rooms. Our new sweater is a tribute to these very classics. We’ve used 100% merino wool to make it soft and comfortable, while letting the shape and character carry on the legacy of the sweaters that have kept us warm before.

STORE AND MICROFACTORY
Our store is not your typical shop. Sure, we sell clothes and make money from it, but can we do everything the opposite of what typical clothing stores do? Our goal is just as much about opening minds and showing that it's possible to do things in a completely different way, with a totally different footprint.

Visit us at Grünerløkka in Oslo (where Markveien crosses Korsgata) to try on clothes, share your input on new products, repair worn garments, see how your products are made, or just have a chat with one of us. More information about the store here. Read more about our store concept here.
