The Play More Jersey

Throwaway culture and overconsumption are things we talk about again and again. And supporter gear is no exception.

Together with Morten Thorsby and We Play Green, we started wondering whether it really has to be this way - or if it’s possible to make a supporter jersey that isn’t designed to be replaced, but to be worn again and again. At the stadium, on hikes, or on completely ordinary days.

The result became The Play More Jersey. A jersey that tries to do the opposite of what the industry profits from: a timeless, retro-inspired design without seasons or sponsors that go out of date, made from 100% cotton instead of plastic, and built around one very simple idea:

If it wears out, we’ll repair it.
As long as you’re willing to keep wearing it.

AREA OF USE
Well, where can’t you wear a black or white t-shirt? As always, we design our garments with versatility in mind – and The Cotton Tee is no exception. Wear it for just about anything, take good care of it, and you’ve got a solid go-to companion for years to come.

On the back is the number 2 – the jersey number of Morten Thorsby – but also a quiet reference to the 2-degree target in the Paris Agreement. A reminder that the sum of small choices, including the ones we make in the locker room, actually matters.

We’re not saying this is the solution to everything.

But it is a jersey that refuses to fully play by the rules.

And maybe the only one you really need.

MATERIAL
100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, from Turkey.

What GOTS certification actually means

GOTS is one of the strictest textile certifications out there.

In short, it comes down to three things:

Environment
Strict requirements for chemicals, water use, and waste handling in production. Fewer shortcuts. Less nonsense.

People
Good working conditions, fair wages, and zero child labour throughout the entire supply chain. Not just in the final step – but all the way through.

Organic content
At least 70% organic fibres are required to use the label – in practice often 95–100%.

Traceability
You should be able to follow the material through the entire chain. From fibre to finished garment.

WHO MAKES SUPPORTER GEAR?

It’s not always easy to find out who actually makes the shirt of your favourite club or national team.

The Play More Jersey breaks with the rules of conventional supporter production, but plays on the same team as the people who make it: fair working conditions and living wages for the seamstresses. We also openly share where it’s made, where the raw materials come from, and who’s involved in the production.

The Play More Jersey is made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton from Hamboya Boyacilik Tekstil in Turkey, and sewn together by Lúcia at Lopes & Carvalho in Portugal.

This product is made from a durable natural material with a timeless design. Natural materials are not as strong as plastic materials, but we believe it's more likely that you'll love a nature-based product for many, many years.
