The Worker Jacket is expected to hit the shelves in March 2026.

    THE HISTORY
The classic work jacket has a long track record across industries around the world. It originally came from Russia, but was soon picked up and produced in both France and England — where it earned its place as a kind of uniform. Or more precisely: a protective outer layer worn over everyday clothes.

In Norway, the work jacket also has deep roots. It was a staple among farmers, carpenters, builders, and industrial workers. For decades, much of the country’s workwear was made locally, in clothing factories found in nearly every small town. And even though most of those factories are now long gone, the jacket lives on — not just on the job, but in everyday life on the streets.

The Worker Jacket is our little tribute to the people who wore it for what it was truly made for: work.

    DETAILS
Open pockets? Side pockets? Zippers or no zippers? There are plenty of questions. Traditionally, these kinds of work jackets featured simple, open patch pockets — a solution that looked good and worked well in practice. But in 2025, we have a few more things to think about. Maybe your phone deserves a safer home, like an inside pocket? Or maybe a zipper or two wouldn’t hurt, so your valuables don’t disappear on the go?

There are pros and cons to every choice. But one thing’s for sure: The classic style and function need to stay. Smart upgrades can be added — but only where they’re actually needed.

    LET’S DISCUSS:
    Question 1:
Which pockets do you think this jacket needs?

    WEAR AND TEAR
A work jacket needs to take a beating. Period. The Worker Jacket will be made from 100% cotton, with a sturdy fabric that’s built to last. Every detail — from pockets and buttons to cuffs and collar — is designed with function in mind. And if something breaks, it should be easy to fix.

We’ve studied old work jackets. Really old ones. From people who’ve worn them hard, for years, in rough conditions. Where do they wear out first? What tends to break? And what holds up surprisingly well?

Based on that, we’ve adapted our design. Reinforcements are planned in the spots that need it most — like the hem and pockets. We’re also adding extra fabric on the inside, so you’ve got matching repair material ready to go. Same color, same fabric — easy to fix when the time comes.

    LET’S DISCUSS:
    Question 2:
We’re considering adding a bio-based water repellent finish to the fabric. Is that necessary for a jacket like this?

    COLOR
Color is a different story. In fact, it’s often the first thing to fade. But we think that’s part of the charm. A well-used garment will lose some color, gain some character, and age with grace. To us, color choice is almost as important as the fit. A muted tone means the jacket can be worn for far more than just practical work.

That’s why we want to pick a color that doesn’t just withstand wear — but actually looks better because of it.

    LET’S DISCUSS:
    Question 3:
What color would you like to see this jacket in?
