DETAILS
Material
Jack Shirt is made of 95% wool (a blend of virgin and recycled wool) and 5% cashmere. The wool comes from Australia and is, of course, mulesing-free. The fabric is brushed to give it that soft fleece-like feel you’ll never want to take off. Wool keeps you warm even when it’s wet, and it doesn’t smell – nature’s own magic at work.
Reinforcements
Elbows, shoulders and cuffs have been given some extra love – reinforced with polyester for durability. These reinforcements can easily be replaced when worn out, so you can keep using the shirt for many, many years.
Fit
Jack Shirt has the fit of a lightweight jacket – roomy enough for a layer underneath, yet sharp enough to wear on its own. It’s slightly longer in the back, so you’re protected from cold drafts when you bend down or carry a backpack.
Pockets
Two large chest pockets with hidden buttons under the flaps. A small hidden “hook” on the left chest pocket for hanging your sunglasses. Large side pockets with zippers. And an inside chest pocket with a zipper for your phone, map or other small essentials. Functional, without losing the clean look.
Buttons
Solid corozo nut buttons made to last. You’ll find an extra one sewn on the inside – just in case. Based on tester feedback, we’ve added an extra button above the cuff so you can tighten the sleeve and keep cold air out. And yes – take a closer look at the buttons for a small, friendly reminder 😊

BACKGROUND
When we first started playing around with the idea of making a mid-layer, we had a plethora of styles and functions to choose between. With our design philosophy in mind, we wanted to develop a garment that was both functional and looked good in the mountains or the city, and that could be worn in any season.
Like our other products, you can go straight from a hike to dinner with your in-laws in the Jack Shirt. Thanks to the wool you won't smell, and thanks to the design you will be ready for any occasion.

THE PROCESS
We received our first prototype in autumn 2020, and since then we’ve developed Jack Shirt together with our Community. Five prototypes, one test round and two production rounds later, we’ve landed on a product that both we and our users are proud of.
The biggest changes from the previous version:
Dedicated men’s fit. Jack Shirt used to be unisex, but we’ve adjusted the shape to fit men better – a better fit means a longer lifespan.
Longer back panel. Many in our Community wanted more length at the back – we listened.
New angled pockets. The old side-seam pockets looked nice but were tricky to use. The new ones are both practical and good-looking.
New chest pockets. Previously they were flat with visible buttons. Now they have a minimalist flap with hidden buttons for a cleaner look.
When it comes to buttons. We’ve always aimed to use ones that actually make a difference. In earlier productions, we used bio-resin made from 90% food waste and 10% binding agents. Now, all buttons are made of corozo – a natural material known for its strength and durability. The nuts are collected only after they’ve fallen naturally from the tree, meaning no trees are cut down. The production also supports local jobs in South America.
P.S. The name also came from our Community. Inspired by Tamara, who suggested “Jack Shirt” – a combination of jacket, shirt (and a little jack shit 😉).

USE MORE +
This product is made with durable materials and in a timeless design. This helps ensure that you can use it for many years, but its lifespan also depends on how you take care of it. If you take good care of your product and repair it when needed, you will be able to enjoy it for a very, very long time. We're here to help with that through Use More +, a service that gives you help on fixing and caring for your product, and two free repairs of this product. Read more about Use More + here.

STORE AND MICROFACTORY
Our store is not your typical shop. Sure, we sell clothes and make money from it, but can we do everything the opposite of what typical clothing stores do? Our goal is just as much about opening minds and showing that it's possible to do things in a completely different way, with a totally different footprint.
Visit us at Grünerløkka in Oslo (where Markveien crosses Korsgata) to try on clothes, share your input on new products, repair worn garments, see how your products are made, or just have a chat with one of us. More information about the store here. Read more about our store concept here.
