THE GOAL IS SIMPLE
If we want to break up with Big Tech in the long run, we need to find new ways to reach new people. More newsletter subscribers is an incredibly good start.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
We cannot keep sending money to a company that thrives on polarizing the world and making our children addicted to screens. A world where all power ends up with Big Tech - that simply cannot continue. As long as we keep paying for ads, that is exactly what happens. In 2024, we sent NOK 2.1 million to Meta (Facebook and Instagram), almost our entire marketing budget.
At the same time, we have to be honest: Meta is still our most important and most effective channel for reaching new customers. That is why we have spent a long time trying to figure out how to cut it out without cutting off our own head. Now we finally have a plan: Out with Big Tech, in with companies and people we actually want to support.

In short: You tell your friends about us instead of us paying Meta to do it.
Is it smart? Or slightly rude of us to ask?
HERE IS OUR PROMISE
We are turning off all ads in November and December. If the numbers drop, we will turn them back on. We are willing to take the risk in the most important sales months of the year, but not willing to let the company go under. BUT if it goes well, it is "Bye bye Mr. Zuckerberg" for good.
FOLLOW THE PROCESS
We are tracking the number of new newsletter subscribers and new customers until December 15. The goal is 2,000 new subscribers and 2,000 new customers. That is a bit of growth from last year. New customers are of course important, but without Meta, newsletter subscribers are extremely important both short and long term.
